Filmmakers Workshop #3In this issue of our newsletter, I want to tell you about the third workshop we did with filmmakers from the United States on the subject of increasing our reach and influence on culture. If you would like to see the first and second workshops, click here. This time, we did the workshop in conjunction with my good friend and Briner advisor, Dr. Scott Harris. Scott serves as Pastor of Administration at First Baptist Church in Nashville and President of Kingdom Good Global, whose mission is to help nonprofits carry out their vision through effective coaching. Sixteen of us met together in March of this year with the expressed goal of discussing how we could bring a “Triple Bottom Line” to the filmmaking process. What do we mean by a “Triple Bottom Line”? That phrase signifies three areas of increased effectiveness in the movie making process: 1. We are searching for ways to help producers of faith films to have wider audiences and more effective traction as they do (in other words-sell more tickets). 2. We are seeking deeper involvement and partnerships with “mission aligned organizations (both for profit and nonprofit) to help achieve goal #1 and to help the movies have more localized impact in communities. 3. Finally, we are trying to find a way to make this all more attractive and amplify Return on Investment (ROI) for Investors.
