Alexa Campbell

In the fall of 2018, I was asked to teach the students at Belmont University’s Curb College of Entertainment about the idea of marketing the films they were making.  Seems they were spending lots of money-making films, but nobody was thinking about getting the money back (I’m forever grateful to Chip Murray for that line).  In that fall class was a young lady named Alexa Campbell, who was one of the best students I ever had.  She was always a little early for class, always read up on the class assignment, and of course got an A for her grade.  The next year Alexa came to a Briner Institute Workshop that focused on Christians having a greater impact on culture, specifically through empowering and educating Christian creatives.  She got her degree and started in the work force.

Alexa wanted to direct music videos for artists in Nashville and along the way met Carly Pearce, where she started out. On a tour, Alexa told Carly that her dream was to direct music videos and because of her faithfulness in what she had be given to do, had demonstrated an ability to rise to the occasion. Carly told her to come do videos for her and this past Sunday, Carly and Alexa picked up the CMT Award for Collaborative Video of the Year, Carly Pearce feat. Chris Stapleton “We Don’t Fight Anymore”. The Briner Institute wants to recognize Alexa as a Roaring Lamb and we commit to pray for her as she provides Salt and Light to our world!

We Got Books!

Thanks to the efforts of many of you, we had contributions that allowed us to buy up all the books we could find online.  In addition, we got a contribution that was designated to help with the development of the new book, so we are now going to a printer to develop a “Limited Edition” of Roaring Lambs that will help fill the gap until the updated book is revised and available.  We have bought a large number of the books that have been in circulation, but certainly not all of them.  And now, maybe there’s a way you can help us.

Generally, the books on Amazon and Ebay fall into one of two categories: “new” or “used”.   The Briner Institute wants to continue to collect these books to send to colleges that are teaching the Roaring Lambs class.  We want to continue to acquire books that are of “good”, “very good” or “excellent” condition. Sometimes it says, “like new”.  These are the kind of books that make excellent textbooks for students.  It’s ok if there are some notes or underlining in the books.  We just need them to be readable and generally those are the best descriptions.   

If you want to help us, it’s pretty easy to do.  You can go on Ebay or Amazon and purchase the book and send it to us!  You can support the Briner Institute by supplying a Roaring Lambs book for a college student!

Here’s exactly how you can do it:

• Go online to Ebay.com or Amazon.com and search for the book Roaring Lambs.

• Usually, you will find several books you could buy, but you should check the condition.  Only buy books that are in “good”, “very good” or “excellent” condition.

• “Click” and buy a book, and in the “ship to” location, instead of sending it to your address, send it to us at The Briner Institute, 8105 Victory Trail, Brentwood, TN, 37027.  When you do, you help us get more quality used books to share with students in colleges that are studying and needing to read Roaring Lambs.

Students like Alexa Campbell are in Christian colleges all over the country right now.  Here’s a picture of the Spring 2024 Roaring Lambs class with professor James Tealy.  We are developing Roaring Lambs classes at other colleges and need your help. The Roaring Lambs book has a “gentle way” to talk to young people and creatives that challenges them to live out their faith.  Consider sending a contribution to The Briner Institute to support the work of teaching these young minds that truth is not subjective.  There is Real Truth and it’s found in Christ.
