Briner Institute "Summer Semester" 2013

The Briner Institute kicked-off its first “Summer Semester” during July/Aug. Barry Landis, founder and Executive Director says “this pilot program allowed us to provide 12 hand-picked post-grads the opportunity to take part in sample classes, while we continue to build this needed program.”

Topics ranged from Miley Cyrus, and the cultural effects of her behavior, to discussions on why Millenials are leaving the church, all with an emphasis on how these young professionals could maintain an effort at being “salt and light” in entertainment. In addition, they were called upon to take part in shaping the future of what the Briner Institute will become, in effect creating a model that would best serve themselves as post-grads endeavoring to integrate into the entertainment industry.

The summer program was led by Trent Dean, a Nashville music industry veteran and adjunct professor at Belmont University.
